About Us

Mission Statement

Uncharted History is a dedicated treasure-hunting organization composed of diverse experts from various backgrounds and disciplines. Our mission is to research, locate, and responsibly recover hidden caches, treasures, and valuable minerals, while strictly adhering to all local laws and regulations.

We prioritize environmental conservation, ensuring that the ecosystems in which these treasures are found remain undisturbed and protected. At Uncharted History, we believe that preserving historical artifacts for future generations is paramount. Once a discovery is made, we collaborate closely with local museums and organizations to ensure the proper documentation, conservation, and education regarding the historical significance of these finds.

In addition, we are committed to making substantial contributions to these institutions, sharing our knowledge and experiences to promote a deeper understanding of the cultural heritage tied to each discovery.

Research

The first stage of our treasure hunting process involves conducting extensive research by consulting historical books, magazines, online resources, and interviewing individuals with knowledge of local treasure stories. This process allows us to create a comprehensive database of potential treasure targets for further investigation.

Verification

Once potential targets are identified, we move to the verification phase. We begin by asking the key question, "Could this be a valid treasure target, and is its existence plausible?" If the answer is "Yes," we delve deeper into the stories to differentiate fact from fiction. This phase, often referred to as the "Rabbit Hole Stage," involves meticulously sifting through numerous accounts and legends, which often leads to new stories, requiring careful evaluation of each.

In-Depth Research

After verifying and narrowing down our list of targets, we proceed to conduct thorough research on each one. While some targets yield information quickly, the majority require detailed examination of historical texts, maps, personal diaries, and local accounts. This stage can be physically, mentally, and financially demanding, often requiring us to track down landmarks and towns that no longer exist. Many historical texts are hundreds of pages long, and we comb through them for key details to validate the treasure's location. Once our team concludes that the research has provided enough substantial information to pinpoint a search area, we proceed to the next stage.

Evaluation

At this stage, we assess the potential locations of the treasure using modern mapping tools and historical data. We evaluate topography, land ownership, and access routes to plan the expedition. If the target is on state-owned land, we work closely with park rangers or state agencies to obtain the necessary permits. On private property, we engage with landowners to discuss our objectives and reach a mutually beneficial agreement. Before beginning any excavation, we document the site with photographs, ensuring the environment is restored to its original state or as close as possible after our work is completed.

Recovery

Once the location is secured and fully documented, we begin the recove

ry process using techniques such as metal detection, diving, excavation, and sifting, depending on the nature of the target. After recovering the treasure and any related artifacts, we collaborate with local communities to document and enrich existing narratives surrounding the discovery. We also contribute to local museums, helping to create displays that preserve the story of the find for future generations to enjoy.
